- 1 lb of steak (flank, skirt, or sirloin)
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- Black beans
- Salsa
- Sour cream
- Fresh cilantro
- Jalapenos
- Chili powder
- Cumin
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the steak with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side in a hot skillet.
- Remove steak and let rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Spread tortilla chips on a baking sheet and layer with shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Add the sliced steak, black beans, and any other desired toppings.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
- Top with fresh salsa, sour cream, cilantro, and sliced jalapenos. Serve warm.
Notes
Feel free to customize toppings with your favorites like guacamole, hot sauce, or diced tomatoes. You can also add ground beef, chicken, or pulled pork for a different variation.
